John Landgraf
John Landgraf was named president and general manager of FX Networks in May 2005, overseeing all programming and business operations for FX and Fox Movie Channel. Landgraf first joined FX as president of entertainment in January 2004. Under Landgraf’s direction, FX’s viewership has reached all-time highs. The channel has positioned itself to continue that growth propelled by new and returning original series as well as a stronger lineup of acquired movies. Upon arriving at FX, Landgraf made significant creative contributions to the network’s existing series, including The Shield and nip/tuck, and played a critical role in the development of Rescue Me. He also developed the unscripted series 30 Days. In 2007 FX premiered three drama series — Dirt, The Riches and Damages — all of which were renewed for a second season. Prior to joining FX, Landgraf was president of Jersey Television, a company he co-founded in 1999 along with former Jersey Films partners Danny DeVito, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher. From 1994-1999, Landgraf was vice president of primetime series at NBC. He began his television career at Sarabande Productions as director of development, and eventually rose to senior vice president. Landgraf holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Pitzer College. He was a Coro Fellow from 1984-1985. He lives in Santa Monica, California, with his wife, Ally Walker Landgraf, and their three sons.
