Kathryn Joosten received a 2005 Primetime Emmy award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her Desperate Housewives role, Karen McClusky. Although she did not pursue a professional acting career until age 42 — and arrived in Hollywood just 12 years ago — Joosten has created dozens of memorable television characters. She is best known for her portrayal of Mrs. Landingham, secretary to the President (Martin Sheen) on acclaimed NBC drama The West Wing. Joosten went on to become one of the recurring “Gods” on CBS’s Joan of Arcadia and recurred as Claire on Dharma and Greg. Joosten, who previously starred on General Hospital, has guest starred on Grey’s Anatomy, Scrubs, Everwood, Yes, Dear, Life with Bonnie, Will & Grace, Less Than Perfect, The King of Queens, My Name is Earl, Monk, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Judging Amy, Father of the Pride, Becker, Arli$$, NYPD Blue, Ally McBeal, Providence and over 20 other primetime shows. Joosten also has many theater credits, and has appeared in such feature film as Wedding Crashers and Hostage.
