Nancy Thurston is the stunt double for Hayden Panetierre on the NBC series Heroes. She has also had the pleasure of working with Emily Proctor on CSI: Miami. Thurston first set her sights on a career as a professional stuntwoman during her run with the United States High Diving Team. She earned a diving scholarship to Illinois State University and transitioned to a professional team, which helped her follow her dream. A contributing member of the Stuntwomen’s Association for 12 years, she served on its board for nine. She served on the Television Academy’s very first Stunts Peer Group Executive Committee, and in 2006 helped to increase her peer group’s membership by 40 percent. Thurston hosted the Academy’s first Stunt Coordinator Nomination Reception, honoring those who were nominated for an award and thanking those who helped form the Stunt Peer Group and continue to foster its development.
