Forever known to millions of viewers as Edith
Bunker on "All in the Family," Stapleton won three Emmys for
her role as the lovable dingbat. Prior to that, Stapleton appeared on
Broadway before making the transition to television in such shows as "Philco
TV Playhouse" and "Dr. Kildare." Among her other Emmy
nominated roles were Eleanor in "Eleanor, First Lady of the World" and
Aunt Vivian on the series "Grace Under Fire." "Eleanor:
