Christina Grimmie

Christina Grimmie was a performer best known for her participation on the NBC reality competition series The Voice. The singer finished third during season six of the program in 2014. She competed on the team of Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine.

Grimmie began performing at the age of six, later learning how to play the piano. At the age of 15 she began posting videos to YouTube, which led to wider popularity. She notably covered songs by Miley Cyrus, Sia and Adele, garnering millions of views and amassing a large following in the process.

Her videos soon caught the attention of pop star Selena Gomez and her managers, who promptly signed the singer. She appeared at various Disney events before auditioning for The Voice. As a result of her run on the reality show, she signed a recording contract with Island Records.

She died after being shot while making a publicity appearance on June 10, 2016, in Orlando, Florida. She was 22.
