Christopher Knopf
Christopher Knopf was an American screenwriter and union executive.
Knopf was born in New York and attended UCLA, leaving during his senior year to join the Air Force during World War II. He finished his studies at U.C. Berkeley, graduating in 1950, and began a 50-year career as a writer for motion picture and television.

Knopf was born in New York and attended UCLA, leaving during his senior year to join the Air Force during World War II. He finished his studies at U.C. Berkeley, graduating in 1950, and began a 50-year career as a writer for motion picture and television.
Knopf’s television credits include work on several Western series, including The Restless Gun, Wanted: Dead or Alive, Trackdown, The Rifleman, The Texan, Zane Grey Theater, The Big Valley, and Cimarron Strip. He also wrote episodes of The Detectives, The Dick Powell Theatre, Dr. Kildare, The Magical World of Disney, and Equal Justice.
He served as president of the International Writers Guild, national chairman of the Writers Guild of America, and president of the Writers Guild of America West. He received ten Writers Guild nominations and won three of them.
Knopf received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations, one in 1959, the other in 1986.
Knopf died February 13, 2019, in Santa Monica, California. He was 91.
