Darrell Ward was a professional trucker who appeared on the documentary series Ice Road Truckers.
The series follows a group of long-haul truckers who provide remote work camps and villages in Canada’s Northwest Territory with supplies, often in the face of drastic weather conditions.
The reality program debuted in 2007, and was nominated for one Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Cinematography for Nonfiction Programming.
Ward appeared on nearly 50 episodes of the History channel series, from 2012 to 2015. He also appeared on a single episode of Ice Road Truckers Canada.
He died August 28, 2016, in Missoula, Montana. He was 52.
