Joe Alaskey was a voice actor best known for his work as the voice of the classic characters Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester the Cat and Tweety Bird. Alaskey was one of the successors to famed voice actor Mel Blanc on the long-running Looney Tunes cartoons. Alaskey won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2004 for his work as the title character in Duck Dodgers. He was also nominated for an Annie Award for Looney Tunes: Back in Action for his work as Daffy Duck.
Known to his fans as “The Man of a Thousand Voices,” Alaskey also provided the voices to the characters Grandpa Lou Pickles on the Nickelodeon cartoon Rugrats and its spinoff, All Grown Up, as well as Plucky Duck on Tiny Toon Adventures. Additionally, he provided voices for the series Mighty Mouse, the New Adventures, Back to the Future, Where’s Waldo?, The Little Mermaid, The Plucky Duck Show, Life with Louie, The Bugs ‘n’ Daffy Show, Timon & Pumbaa, Hey Arnold!, The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries, Johnny Bravo and Samurai Jack.
Apart from animation, Alaskey appeared in the series Night Court, Head of the Class, Out of This World (opposite Burt Reynolds) and The Drew Carey Show, and he provided the narration for the 2014 Investigation Discovery series Murder Comes to Town.

His feature films included the 1988 live-action and animation hybrid Who Framed Roger Rabbit, providing the voices of Yosemite Sam and Foghorn Leghorn, as well as Bank Robber, starring Patrick Dempsey and Lisa Bonet; Forest Gump, in which he voiced President Nixon; Casper, voicing Stinkie the Ghost; and The Rugrats Movie, once again as Grandpa Pickle.
Alaskey was also a writer, and in 2009 he released a memoir, That's Still Not All Folks!! He also wrote a horror novel, Frater Dementis, and a collection of short stories, Queasy Street: Volume One — Eleven Tales of Fantasy.
Alaskey died February 3, 2016, in Los Angeles. He was 63.
