Richard Scott

Richard Scott was a publicist and writer best known for his work as an executive at Disney, Fox, Columbia, MGM and Universal.

Scott, who earned a degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and a master's in creative writing from the University of Iowa, also penned a 1971 episode of the CBS Western series Gunsmoke.

He served as a publicist on the Disney films The Rescuers, Pete’s Dragon and The Fox and the Hound, as well as Stephen King’s Graveyard Shift and the telefilms Royce and The Neon Empire.

Scott died September 5, 2017, in North Hollywood, California. He was 75.
