Rita Riggs was a costume designer and wardrobe specialist best known for her work with Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin throughout the 1970s, including contributions to All in the Family, Maude, Sanford and Son, Good Times, One Day at A Time, The Jeffersons and Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.
Riggs began her career at CBS in 1954 working in the costume department on such shows as Climax! and Shower of Stars, as well as the classic live theater series Playhouse 90, and the telefilm Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years.
She went on to work at Revue Studios where she contributed to Alfred Hitchcock’s series Alfred Hitchcock Presents, which led to her working on Hitchcock's Psycho, The Birds and Marnie.
Additionally, Riggs worked on films including Seconds, Petulia and Yes, Giorgio.
Riggs died June 5, 2017, in Los Angeles. She was 86.
