Ron Cummins was a character actor best known for his roles in the films Dog Day Afternoon, Ghostbusters II and Tango & Cash.
He worked often with director Peter Hyams, and appeared in many of his films, including, The Presidio, Narrow Margin, Busting, The Star Chamber, Running Scared and The Relic.
He also appeared in the films Nuts, starring Barbra Streisand; I Will... I Will... For Now, with Elliott Gould and Diane Keaton; Which Way Is Up?, starring Richard Pryor; American Gigolo, with Richard Gere and Lauren Hutton; Where the Buffalo Roam, with Bill Murray and Peter Boyle; and Gridlock’d and Gang Related, both starring Tupac Shakur.
Additionally, Cummins appeared on the television series Arrest and Trial, Police Story and Chicago Hope, as well as the telefilm Dempsey, which starred Treat Williams, Sam Waterston and Sally Kellerman, about boxing legend Jack Dempsey.

Cummins got his start in entertainment as a child, playing Louis, the son of Anna, in the original 1951 Broadway production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I. He later appeared on stage in Damn Yankees, The Music Man and Plaza Suite.
He also studied acting with Sanford Meisner and Betty Cashman, jazz dancing with Eugene Louis Facciuto, tap dancing with Ernest Carlos and ballet with the New York City Ballet.
Cummins died July 1, 2016, in Canoga Park, California. He was 74.
