| For the first time in its 28 year history, the first place winners of the 2007 College Television Awardsin a move to more realistically emulate the Primetime Emmy® Awardswere announced live from the stage.
Held March 31 at the historic Culver Studios and hosted by Tom Bergeron (ABC's Dancing with the Stars), the annual College Television Awards competition recognized the nation’s best in student film, television and digital works.
This year's enthusiastic sold-out crowd included family and friends of the winners, another first.
The Television Academy Foundation undertook a successful effort to sell sponsorships and programs ads.
As a result, the audience also included several industry leaders, agents and managers who were on hand to celebrate the winners.
Students Honored in Ten Categories
Awards were presented in ten categories:

Octavio Warnock-Graham (pictured above right) swept the swept the evening with three wins for his documentary Silences: Best Documentary, the Bricker Humanitarian Award and honors for Best Directing.
The autobiographical piece tells the story of a biracial son, who confronts his mother and experiences her refusal to acknowledges that he is of African-American descent.

28th CTA winner Octavio Warnock-Graham garnered three awards for his documentary Silences.

Innovation in Television Award
Esteemed producer and show creator Mark Burnett was awarded the first Innovation in Television Award, which recognizes a creative force who has made a significant, groundbreaking impact on the television landscape.
Bergeron deftly and humorously hosted the evening, much to the delight of the audience, closing with “is it over already!!?”
