About Margaret Loesch
Margaret Loesch is Co-CEO of The Hatchery LLC, a company focused on family entertainment. Prior to launching The Hatchery, Ms. Loesch produced and distributed the motion picture “Benji off the Leash” with Benji creator/director Joe Camp. Previously, Ms. Loesch was founding President and CEO of the U. S. Hallmark Channel. Prior to launching that channel, she was the President of the Odyssey Channel, and previously she served as President of the Jim Henson Television Group.
From 1990 through1997, Loesch served as the founding President and CEO of FOX Kids Networks, Worldwide. While there, she re-shaped the landscape of children's television with a creative strategy that merged diversified, quality programming with innovative and aggressive marketing. Loesch’s prior stints included serving as President and CEO of Marvel Productions, Executive Vice-President of Hanna-Barbera, and positions with NBC and ABC Television Networks.
Among her achievements, she is credited with developing and launching many hit children’s shows, including The Smurfs, Muppet Babies, Transformers, Goosebumps, X-Men, Power Rangers, and Spider-Man. Among her awards, Loesch has received four Emmy Awards, a George Foster Peabody Award, a Vision Award, and the prestigious Chair Award from the Caucus for Television Producers, Writers, and Directors.
She is on the Board of Trustees of Sesame Workshop, producers of Sesame Streetand is a member of the Foundation Board of the Television Academy of Arts & Sciences.
About Dean Teri Schwartz
Teri Schwartz, an award-winning Hollywood feature film producer, is the inaugural Dean of Loyola Marymount's School of Film and Television in Los Angeles. Ms. Schwartz's credits include such hit films as the Golden Globe nominated Sister Act, Beaches, Nuts, The Out of Towners and Hope.
Schwartz partnered with Academy Award winner Goldie Hawn as President and Producer of their highly successful and acclaimed Cherry Alley Productions. Schwartz's numerous film and television credits have garnered nominations and/or Academy, Emmy, Golden Globe, MTV, CLIO, and Grammy awards. Schwartz is a member of the Producers Guild of America, the Directors Guild of America, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Television Academy Foundation's Board of Directors, Digital Hollywood National Education Advisory Board, Digital Coast Roundtable and Film Independent. As Dean of LMU's School of Film and Television, Schwartz has created a unique and differentiated global vision for the school to serve as a beacon of light for master visual storytelling grounded in humanism, innovation and diversity. As a premier vibrant global creative community of top students, faculty, award winning alumni, distinguished visiting artists and industry professionals, the LMU School of Film and Television is winning awards for film production, screenwriting and animation at festivals around the world.
The Education Committee is an advisory council that is dedicated to upholding the ideals of the department’s education programs, while supporting the advancement and value of its outreach to students and faculty nationwide. Currently, the committee is made up of twelve volunteers who are all working in various fields of entertainment, technology and education. Programs that fall under the Education Department include the prestigious College Internship Program, the College Television Awards, the Fred Roger’s Memorial Scholarship, Journeys Below the Line, the Faculty Seminar and the Visiting Professionals Program.
