Mad Men is a critically acclaimed provocative new primetime drama which premiered on AMC in July 2007.  Set in 1960 New York, the series is about the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising, an ego driven world where key players make an art of the sell while their private work sold.

During this time, advertising agencies were an all-powerful influence on the masses.  Personal and professional manipulation and sexual exploits defined the workplace and closed the deals.  The high profile Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency created ad campaigns for cigarettes to political candidates better than anyone.

The show revolves around the conflicted work of Don Draper the biggest ad men (and ladies man) in the business and his colleagues at the agency.  As Don makes the plays in the boardroom and bedroom, he struggles to stay a step ahead of the rapidly changing times and the young executives nipping at his heels.  The series depicts authentically the roles of men and women in this era while exploring the true human nature beneath the guise of 1960 traditional family values.

Mad Men was the recipient of two Golden Globe Awards for "Best Performance by an Actor in a TV Series – Drama" (Jon Hamm) and "Best TV series Drama." The show also received a Writers Guild Award, a Director's Guild Award and an Art Directors Guild Award.

Inside…Mad Men offers complimentary attendance for Television Academy members and one guest.  Seating is on a first come, first served basis and is very limited. There is no ticketing for this event.  Academy Membership card and photo ID must be presented for admission. To RSVP or for more information go to www.emmys.tv.
