Brianne Murphy, ASC: Cinematography Pioneer
Murphy was the first female member of the American Society of Cinematographers. She became a member in 1980, some 61 years after the organization was founded. That was seven after she became the first woman rated as a director of photography by Local 659, which was the Hollywood section of the International Photographers Guild.
