In the winter, there’s not much better than having a relaxing night in with a warm fire blazing and your favorite TV shows (especially for those who have no choice...cough cough winter storm Juno cough cough).

This week, we look at four premieres, Backstrom, The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, Black Sails, and Justified, and two finales, The Taste and American Horror Story: Freak Show.

With these long-awaited beginnings and thrilling finales, we wanted to know if fans were talking about the following:

Gabe Kennedy’s victory in the final challenge of preparing the perfect three-course meal on The Taste
Everett Backstrom’s irascible demeanor and the team of eccentric criminologists in Backstrom
The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore replacing The Colbert Report and airing in the same time slot
The premiere of Black Sails as Captain Flint embarks on his conquests as the most feared of all the Golden Age pirates
The beginning of the end — the sixth and final season of Justified
Elsa’s tumultuous life and violent ending on the season finale of American Horror Story: Freak Show

The Social Totals

The twisted tales of American Horror Story: Freak Show freaked out the rest of the competition, as the show received the majority of social engagements, holding 76.0% of market share.

Active Audiences

Although American Horror Story: Freak Show had overwhelmingly the largest number of social engagements, it didn’t exactly have the most active audience. To balance things out, we always incorporate audience size into our calculations. And when we do, we see that Backstrom actually sneaks its way to the top on both social networks, with 406.6 Facebook engagements per 1K fans and 562.8 Twitter engagements per 1K followers.
