Composers Gather in Los Angeles

Two panels being held in June

The Society of Composers and Lyricists will present two panel discussions with some of the best known composers in television.

On Wednesday, June 10, participants are invited to join composers Jeff Russo & Zoë Keating (The Returned) and James Levine & Jim Dooley (The Last Ship) as they discuss the unique process of combining creative visions while working together to score television shows.  The panel will feature an in depth discussion of their work, as well as highlights from their various shows, followed by a Q&A.

On Monday, June 15, participants will learn the secrets of 20th Century Fox composers Sean Callery (24, Homeland, Bones, Backstrom), Fil Eisler (Empire) and Mac Quayle (American Horror Story: Freak Show) as they discuss how their scores intensify the action and drama of some the most popular shows on television. The panel will feature highlights from their hit shows, followed by an in depth discussion on their work and an audience Q&A.

Both programs will be held at Linwood Dunn Theater | Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study, 1313 Vine St, Los Angeles, CA 90028 at 7:30 p.m.
