Crew Call: Director of Photography Cynthia Pusheck, ASC

Our latest episode of Crew Call visits with Cynthia Pusheck, ASC, Director of Photography on ABC’s Revenge.

Pusheck, one of only a handful of female DPs in the business, says she “stumbled into” her profession while at Columbia College. Although she had no background in photography, she realized that she had found her passion.

Coming up through the ranks, she finally landed on CSI: Miami for one day, and that led to 12 years working in television.

She describes her job as “creating the mood and believability” of a show to bring the audience into that world. One of the elements of working in television that she finds most rewarding is that, with a new director for each episode, her vision stays fresh, and she is always honing her craft.
