Red Carpet Rollout and Final Group of Emmy Presenters Announced

Longest Red Carpet in Emmy History at 1,325 Feet Reflects Expanding TV Landscape

The final countdown to Sunday's 68th Emmy Awards began today with the longest red carpet rollout in Emmy history, literally kicked off by host Jimmy Kimmel, Executive Producer Don Mischer and Television Academy Chairman/CEO Bruce Rosenblum who collectively unrolled the soon-to-be treasured trodden fabric outside the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

Rosenblum said the "... additional carpet length symbolically represented the rapidly expanding television landscape and the talented storytellers and creators of the world's most vibrant medium."

Additionally, glimpses were offered for Emmy nominee and presenter seat cards, Governors Ball décor plus a special unveiling of the Chase Sapphire Reserve "Blue" Room, where Emmy presenters will relax before appearing onstage.

The 68th Emmy Awards executive producer Don Mischer announced the final awards presenter for this year's telecast: Tom Hiddleston, two-time Emmy nominee for The Night Manager – Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie, and Outstanding Limited Series in his Executive Producer role. In addition, Mischer announced that Henry Winkler will introduce this year's In Memoriam segment of the telecast with a celebratory remembrance of Garry Marshall. Vocal sensation Tori Kelly, one of this year's Grammy nominees as Best New Artist, will perform during the In Memoriam.

These three talents join the final group of Emmy presenters who were announced earlier today:

  • Kyle Chandler – Previous Emmy winner and current nominee for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series – Bloodline (Netflix)
  • Bryan Cranston –Five-time Emmy winner, Golden Globe winner, Academy Award Nominee, producer of the upcoming television series Sneaky Pete (Amazon) and current two-time Emmy nominee for for All The Way (HBO) - Outstanding Lead Actor In A Limited Series Or Movie, and Outstanding Made For Television Movie in his Executive Producer role
  • Claire Danes - Three-time Emmy winner, four-time Golden Globe winner and current two-time Emmy nominee for Homeland (SHOWTIME) - Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, and Outstanding Drama Series in her Co-Executive Producer role
  • Michelle Dockery – Three-time Emmy nominee – Downton Abbey (PBS) and starring in the upcoming Good Behavior (TNT)
  • Minnie Driver – Previous Emmy, Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee, and star of upcoming Speechless (ABC)
  • Tony Goldwyn – Previous Screen Actors Guild nominee and current star of Scandal (ABC)
  • Terrence Howard – Screen Actors Guild winner, previous Academy and Golden Globe nominee, star of Empire (FOX)
  • Allison Janney – Multiple Emmy winner, multiple Golden Globe nominee, and current Emmy nominee for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series – Mom (CBS)
  • Rami Malek – Current Emmy nominee for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series – Mr. Robot (USA)
  • Abigail Spencer – Critics Choice Television Award nominee and star of upcoming Timeless (NBC)
  • Kiefer Sutherland – Previous Emmy Award and Golden Globe winner, nominee and current star of upcoming Designated Survivor (ABC)


Also joining the prestigious lineup of 68th Emmy Awards presenters, subsequent to their Emmy wins at last weekend's Creative Arts Awards are:

  • Hank Azaria – Multiple Emmy winner, Screen Actors Guild winner and most recently 68th Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series – Ray Donovan (Showtime)
  • Margo Martindale – Multiple Emmy winner, most recently 68th Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series – The Americans (FX)
  • Tina Fey – Multiple Emmy winner, most recently 68th Emmy Award winner with her SNL co-host Amy Poehler for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series – Saturday Night Live (NBC)
  • Amy Poehler – Multiple Emmy nominee, Golden Globe and 68th Emmy Award winner with her SNL co-host Tina Fey for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series – Saturday Night Live (NBC)
