Television Academy Announces Categories for Emmy and Creative Arts Shows

The Television Academy announced today which awards categories will be presented during the 68th Emmys and the 2016 Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremonies honoring outstanding artistic and technical achievement in television.

As previously announced, the 2016 Creative Arts Emmy Awards have been expanded to two consecutive nights — Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11 — at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles (5pm PT) and will be produced by Bob Bain.

Creative Arts Saturday will primarily present categories related to scripted programming, while Creative Arts Sunday categories include those for reality, variety, short form and animation.

The 68th Emmy Awards, including the star-studded Red Carpet preshow, will be telecast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Sunday, September 18 (7pm ET/4pm PT) on ABC. Emmy Award-winning live television and event producer Don Mischer will executive produce the broadcast hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
