Story TV Pitch Submission

What Are We Looking For?
The theme of your story must, in some way, relate to television (i.e. my dream job, the best day ever, meeting my idol, the show that changed my life, the job I didn't get, etc.) and be five to eight minutes in length.

If you have an idea you'd like to submit, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Is this story true and did it happen to you personally?
  2. As all good stories must, does it have a conflict and resolution, as well as some suspense?
  3. Does it have a story arc that reveals how the story changed you?
  4. Would you be comfortable sharing this personal story in front of an audience of approximately 600 people? And without any notes at all?

If you answered yes to all the questions above and would like to submit a story for consideration, keep reading.

Pitch Requirements
Look at the first three questions above and be sure you have crafted your story so that it contains an arc, some conflict and suspense, as well as revealing how the story changed you. Know where your story is going and be sure that you have already established your ending so that you know where you are headed. Submissions should not be rants or standup routines. Please, no slander, embarrassing or disparaging of any individuals/companies, etc.

Create A Video
Create a 2-minute video pitch of your story. Tell us the short version of your actual story, not what it's about or options of what you might say. When you record your video, do not use notes (as you won't be able to use any should your story be selected). You may shoot it with your phone or any kind of camera and save it as a video file.

How do I submit my video?
Once you have produced your video, upload it using the form below.

Please do not fill out the form until your video is ready to submit!

All videos must be received by the Television Academy no later than 11:59 PM PT on April 26, 2017 to be considered for inclusion in the event.
