'Glee' Co-Creator Ryan Murphy Among Television Academy Exec Appointees

North Hollywood, CA – Academy of Television Arts & Sciences chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum has named Primetime Emmy Award winning writer/director/producer Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story) as his sixth and final appointee to the Television Academy’s Executive Committee, the Academy announced today.

Murphy will serve on the Executive Committee for a one-year term for 2012, along with previously announced committee members Gail Berman, Jason Kilar, Steven Lafferty, Steve Mosko and Dana Walden.

Additionally, the Television Academy voted to approve the Hall of Fame Committee members appointed by Warner Bros. Television president Peter Roth, who will chair the Hall of Fame Committee for 2012.

Roth’s appointees include renowned producer and Hall of Fame inductee Marcy Carsey; Bonnie Hammer, chairman, NBCU Cable Entertainment and Cable Studios; Rick Rosen, head of television at WME; Fred Silverman, Hall of Fame inductee, veteran television producer and executive; and Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment.

“I am honored to have such dynamic and creative minds joining our efforts at the Academy,” Rosenblum said. “Peter has assembled the best of the best to guide the Hall of Fame committee, and I am thrilled to have Ryan join our executive committee as we help guide the Academy into this exciting time in the television industry.”
