Gene Reynolds was an American producer, director, writer, and actor.

Beginning his career as a child actor in movies such as Laurel and Hardy's March of the Wooden Soldiers (1934), Reynolds would go on to develop the television series M*A*S*H, Lou Grant, and Room 222.

He also directed and produced numerous episodes of other hit television series including Leave it to Beaver, The Andy Griffith Show, My Three Sons, The Munsters, Hogan's Heroes, Blossom, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and Touched by an Angel.

A six-time Primetime Emmy winner, Reynolds was nominated an additional 18 times for directing, producing, and writing. He won twice for Outstanding Directing, both for M*A*S*H in 1975 and 1976, and four times for producing Outstanding Series: in 1970 for Room 222, in 1974 for M*A*S*H, and twice for Lou Grant in 1979 and 1980.

Reynolds died February 3, 2020, in Burbank, California. He was 96.
