Legendary actor, writer and comedian John Belushi is widely remembered for his uproarious Saturday Night Live performances and movie roles in such films as The Blues Brothers (with SNL alum Dan Aykroyd), Animal House, 1941 and more.

Legendary actor, writer and comedian John Belushi is widely remembered for his uproarious Saturday Night Live performances and movie roles in such films as The Blues Brothers (with SNL alum Dan Aykroyd), Animal House, 1941 and more.

After joining SNL as an original cast member in 1975, Belushi delivered some of the funniest characters and impressions in comedy history, from Samurai Warrior to Marlon Brando and more. The Chicago native won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy-Variety Or Music Series in 1977 with his fellow SNL writers.

On March 5, 1982, he was found dead of a drug overdose at a Chateau Marmont bungalow in West Hollywood, California.

As a member of the original cast of Saturday Night Live, John Belushi was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 2017.
